Invisalign®️ in Sugar Land, TX

One of the common alternatives to traditional metal braces is Invisalign® clear aligners. The fact that these aligners are removable and discreet when you smile makes them very popular. At Aliana Family Dental, we have sympathy for people who have had to deal with sharp metal cutting their lips. We know that no matter how good an orthodontist is, many residents of Sugar Land, TX don’t have time to come back for countless appointments to have braces re-tightened. That’s why we offer our patients Invisalign.

A great solution to the common complaints with braces is Invisalign. These removable clear aligners are able to straighten your teeth the discomfort of metal and constant tightening.

The Process

The first step to any Invisalign treatment is an assessment. Invisalign may not be suitable for everyone. Come see us for a consultation to discover whether you’re a good candidate for this treatment.

To start the process, we take pictures of your teeth and face as well as impressions. We also take some x-rays to see your bone structure. Then, we send this information to Invisalign, letting them know exactly how and where you want your teeth moved.

They will scan your teeth impressions and make a 3D model on their computer. They will use the computer to move the teeth to the position you want them to be in then look at the movement required to get them there. They send the models to us for revisions, and we repeat the process until you are satisfied with your future smile.

How It Works

Then, they make several sets of trays for your mouth. This process takes about a month. Once the trays arrive, you start the straightening process. Each set is worn for two weeks. The tray will move about 1/10 mm each time, so your new tray will be a bit straighter than your teeth. This pressures your teeth into matching the tray in straightness.

You will wear the trays almost full time. This helps perfect the process. You take them out to eat and brush and floss, but that’s it. You just clean the trays with your brush as well. It’s imperative to leave them in because if you don’t, the cumulative result will mean that the final trays won’t fit at all.
