Why Should You Choose Invisalign Over Braces To Straighten Your Smile?

Easy, Comfortable, and Virtually Invisible

Discreet

Invisalign aligners are made of BPA-free plastic and fit precisely over your teeth. They are barely noticeable, allowing you to feel less self-conscious while straightening your smile.

Comfortable

While the metal brackets of traditional braces can cause irritation and discomfort, the smooth plastic used for these aligners is much gentler on your lips and gums.

Removable

Invisalign aligners can be easily removed during meals and while brushing and flossing. This system is much simpler than braces, and allows you to eat whatever you like.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign works much like traditional orthodontic treatment, but without metal wires and brackets. Like braces, Invisalign aligners apply gentle pressure to teeth. Each aligner tray has a slightly different shape than the one that precedes it, so they gradually reposition your teeth over the course of a year or more.

Conditions Addressed By Invisalign

Invisalign can correct many of the same orthodontic problems as braces. Here are a few of the conditions our dentists treat with Invisalign at our Missouri City, Richmond, Rosenberg, Aliana and Sugar Land practice:

Group 10 Created with Sketch.

Crossbite

One arch is shifted too close to the tongue or cheek.

Group 2 Created with Sketch.

Gapped Teeth

There are noticeable spaces between the teeth.

Group 9 Created with Sketch.

Open Bite

The upper and lower arches do not make complete contact.

Group 6 Created with Sketch.

Overcrowding

Teeth are too close together, overlapping in many areas.

While Invisalign can address any one of these conditions, it can also correct multiple issues at once to improve your bite and enhance your smile. Your orthodontic plan will be completely customized to eventually give you a smile that is not only more attractive, but also easier to maintain.

Why Address Dental Misalignment?

This video explains how overbites, underbites, gapped teeth, or overly crowded teeth can negatively affect your comfort and your health.

Do You Qualify For Invisalign Aligners?

Candidacy Factors

Moderate Misalignment

Invisalign works best for mild to moderate cases. If you suffer from severe malocclusion (misalignment of the teeth), you may require traditional braces.

Responsibility

For best results, patients must wear Invisalign aligners for at least 22 hours a day. They must also follow recommended guidelines and take care not to lose the aligner trays.

Discretion Is a Priority

Many teens and adults choose Invisalign because it is virtually invisible. Your friends and family will not be able to tell that you are wearing an orthodontic appliance.

Caring for Your Aligners

To keep your aligner trays in optimal condition, it is important to care for them properly. Here are a few recommendations from our dentists in Missouri City, Richmond, Rosenberg, Aliana and Sugar Land:

Clean Them Regularly

Your trays should be cleaned in the morning and in the evening. Use a soft toothbrush and clear antibacterial soap. Avoid toothpaste, as some formulas can scratch the aligners.

Rinse Your Trays

Patients should rinse their Invisalign trays every time they are removed. Doing so helps wash away dried saliva, food particles, plaque, and cavity-causing bacteria.

Soak Them Daily

Soak your aligners every day in a special cleansing solution to keep them clean and odor-free. Simply brush them with a toothbrush before placing them back in your mouth.

Use A Protective Case

Whenever you remove your trays, be sure to keep them in a protective case to prevent damage. You should also avoid storing them in extreme temperatures, as they can become warped.
