Cost Of Dental Implants

Dental implants can be a major purchase for some patients, so it’s important to understand the full price and the breakdown of what goes into the total cost. We’ll look at each part of the tooth implant process below, along with methods of payment.

Always keep in mind that the average cost of dental implants could be reduced if your dental insurance covers them. You can also pay for part of your procedure using money from a health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA). We can also accept funds from CareCredit or LendingPoint.

Prices For Our Implant Services

We give price ranges below because teeth implants always come with multiple parts, and you can choose different materials and levels of quality for each part—and sometimes even different dental specialists—which come with different prices. Your personal prices will vary depending on your unique situation, but here is a breakdown of what each service includes.

Single Implant

The price of a single tooth implant covers three different parts:

  • The implant is a titanium tooth root.
  • The implant abutment is a connector between the implant and the new tooth.
  • New tooth crown.

Placing the implant itself can vary in price because of:

  • Bone Grafting: If you need a bone graft, which adds bone volume to the jaw before the implant surgery, it will cost more.
  • Insurance: Dental insurance may reduce the charge for an implant.
  • Specialists: If you need to see a separate dental surgeon, that can add to the price.

Once the initial dental surgery is complete, that’s the first step. You’ll then need to recover before receiving the next parts of the dental implant process and a full tooth restoration.

Implant Abutment

Each implant abutment is a tiny platform that is attached to the implant post (new tooth root). This platform is where we will attach a new dental crown.

Remember, a dental crown is essentially the top and sides of a tooth. Dental crowns are often placed on a worn-down tooth to protect it. When you have a dental implant, though, the abutment acts like the worn-down tooth, providing the surface for the crown to be attached.

Purchasing an abutment will also vary in price depending on the materials chosen, the level of customization, and insurance reductions.

Dental Crown

The dental crown, which is the new tooth you will chew and smile with, will have its own cost on top of the price of the implant. This cost will change depending on the:

  • Materials Used: You can choose basic metals, precious metals, or ceramics in the construction of your crown.
  • Cosmetic Quality: We can carefully customize your new tooth with the color and shape to match your other teeth and complete your smile beautifully.

If your insurance covers this type of restorative dentistry, the price may be on the lower end of the range for you. You can check your policy by calling your insurance company, your employer’s HR department, or a team member here at the dental clinic (we can call your insurance for you).

Multiple Implants

You can get more than one implant at the same time. You might want to:

  • Replace individual teeth with a dental implant, abutment, and crown for each.
  • Place several implants for implant-supported dentures or a dental bridge.

There are so many different options for replacing multiple teeth, which means the price has a very large range depending on your chosen method. We’ll add up the number of implants, a dental bone graft (if needed), and customizations in a final appliance (such as whether you get removable or fixed dentures).

LendingPoint

At your family dentist’s office, we not can help you connect with LendingPoint for a personal loan to cover your dental implant procedure. It won’t affect your credit score to pre-qualify for the loan and check your interest rate, which should be superior to using a credit card. You also don’t need to put money down to get started.

CareCredit

We can show you how to apply to CareCredit, which issues you a healthcare credit card, if you qualify. If your dental insurance covers part of your dental implants cost, the CareCredit card might pay off the rest. Keep in mind that this makes a hard inquiry that can affect your credit score.
